Machinist A/B/C (for 2nd Shift) JOB
Summary:
Responsible for the efficient operation of one or more assigned manual and or CNC machines to produce parts in accordance to customer drawings, internal sketches, or other forms of instruction.
Responsible for the quality and efficient production of parts including efficient setups and proper machining methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Working knowledge of manual and or CNC machines including the ability to run milling, saw or lathe equipment with minimal instruction and know the feeds and speeds of different materials.
Advanced skills on the interpretation of mechanical drawings including the ability to interoperate shape, size, tolerance and critical dimensions without assistance with English or metric dimensioning.
Demonstrated ability using conventional measuring instruments including Verniers and Micrometers and comfortable with tolerances of .
005 of an inch.
Responsible for safety on the shop floor including unsafe conditions within the work center or unsafe conditions in aisle ways throughout the shop.
Responsible for housekeeping within the Work Center as determined by the Work Center Leader and general housekeeping throughout the shop floor as needed.
Manual finishing and deburring of manufactured components using hand or power tools where appropriate.
Responsible for emergency machine maintenance or preventative machine maintenance as determined by the Work Center.
Is capable of collecting data for Statistical Process Control projects as needed by management.
Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor PREFERRED EDUCATION/WORK
Experience:
High School diploma, or equivalent, and:
3 years applied experience, preferably in a job shop environment AUTHORITY None.
