Maintain building and grounds.
Maintenance Assistant
Responsibilities:
Carry out the preventive maintenance program.
Report problems with the interiors or exteriors of the buildings and any equipment Identify needed supplies to REPORT TO and purchase when approved.
Keep sidewalks, parking areas and roadways throughout the facility clean and swept.
Plow and shovel snow on roadways, driveways and sidewalks.
Perform handyman tasks for residents.
Complete work assigned on Daily Maintenance Work Order Forms.
Complete work order forms with time and cost of supplies and return to office.
Ensure proper removal of trash.
Store chemicals, tools and equipment in a proper and safe manner.
Refurbish living units for the next occupants (paint, repair holes in walls, etc.
).
Repair or replace damaged or broken fixtures or equipment.
Inspect interiors and exteriors of the buildings for needed repairs.
Change filters in HVAC equipment.
Assist with setup and cleanup for special events.
Function and operation of kitchen appliances, office equipment, maintenance equipment and grounds equipment, with ability to do minor repairs Understanding of and ability to repair minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical problems Proper care and maintenance of lawns, trees, shrubs and other plants Drywall repair and painting.

Qualifications:
Handyman skills Experience in maintenance or environmental services Experience in grounds maintenance (lawn and plant care) Enjoyment in working with older adults Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 80 lbs.
, using proper body mechanics or available equipment Bending, kneeling or climbing ladders to perform maintenance and housekeeping tasks Occasional weekend work for special events, snowstorms or maintenance emergencies.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
